This Quarter is going "swell"

The summary

Lucy goofing off during music *sigh*
So this week was great. We had PLENTY of tests. We got a band test, which I feel I did well on. We had a social studies test that I have yet to finish. Now I have to do that soon. IT WAS SO UNREASONABLY LONG! ITS BASICALLY WRITING 10 PARAGRAPHS ABOUT WHAT WE LEARNED. WORST OF ALL, IT'S SOCIAL STUDIES, AS IN, "NOBODY LISTENS TO THE TEACHER" SOCIAL STUDIES. IN SCIENCE, WE HAVE THIS DUMB PROJECT WITH A DUMB PARTNER WHO DOESN'T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING! Math is basically the only subject I'm fine with right now. I'm fine with math. And band. But leadership... WE CAN'T WORK! BECAUSE LUCY CAN'T LET GO OF A STUPID POLE. SHE SAYS ITS A "SPEAR OF JUSTICE" AND I HATED IT EVER SINCE SHE PICKED IT UP. IT WOULDN'T HAPPEN IF IT WEREN'T FOR UNDERTALE! THAT GAME IS DUMB! MY LIFE WOULD BE SO MUCH BETTER WITHOUT IT. LUCY BUGS ALL OF US WITH IT, EXCEPT FOR MAY BE MATTHEW. I DON'T CARE ABOUT SANS! It's an OK game I guess, but Lucy is ruining it. Also, EVERYONE THINKS I LIKE ALIZE OR CHANEL OR LUCY OR WHOEVER! I HATE THEM ALL! IF I SAY I DON'T HATE ONE OF THEM, SOMEONE WILL THINK I LIKE THEM! EVERYONE NEEDS TO STOP!

A highlight of the week was band because it wasn't stressful. A lowlight is my social studies test. Another lowlight was  how we lost our working privileges for the next week. Another lowlight is everyone thinking I like someone. Another lowlight is science because it's a complete mess.

I learned that some people like something too much and that leads them to mess up. I learned this because Lucy's infatuation with Undertale causes her to goof off and lose focus. I also learned that some tests are infuriating on many levels. I know this because my social studies test is infuriating on many levels. The state tests are better than that test.

This is my shoe oh wait I don't have a shoe to show you well this is my lucky dime woo weakly blog

I'M HYPER
This week was very wow. In science we are doing a making/ selling item project. I am with Chanel. In math we have extra credit now which is such amaze. We got our talent down which is funnny and life is amazing. In band we be having instrument kit orders which is kewl. In English we are in computer lab with a sub. I miss my teacher. We had lock down and I played ded. In social studies zoo we did nothing.

A highlight is our talent. I think it is 11/10 IGN. Another highlight is our science project because it is lit. A lowlight is social studies zoo because we never do anything. Nobody pays attention. Another lowlight is how nobody respects the English sub. I just want to do things.

I learned that nobody ever listens to subs. I learned this because security has been called like 1 melon times. I also learned that parents care more about grades than students. The parents were the reason that my math teacher did extra credit. They wanted to get their child's grades up.
The palm trees fell down LOL

Melted Marshmallows on Pizza that I'm Eating RN While I'm Listening to my Spotify Playlist (a weekly blog production)

September 11-15
Summary:
This should be a meme.
Yay, Probation. I didn't finish my AR, so now I'm sitting around doing work before school and at recess. At least I'll be off probation soon. I got a new book that's worth 10 points that will finish my goal. In band, we picked out our instruments! I got the french horn. On Thursday and Friday, I got like 3 CFAs. I bet CFA stands for Cranium Frying Assessments. It's like, the same thing every time! Social Studies is a zoo. It's always been a zoo. At least it's a free zoo. In English, we're going to use the computer lab while our teacher is away. I guess that some kid messed around with a chrome book while a sub was in the room, so we can't use them with subs. Our teacher is going to Nepal on a trip. In math, our teacher started drawing Popsicle sticks with our names on it out of a bucket to call on us. Once we answered a question correctly, our Popsicle stick will remain out of the bucket until everyone is called. When everyone is called, we might get bonus points!

Highlights/Lowlights:
A highlight of the week was getting my instrument in band. I'm really excited to start playing it! Another highlight was the new system in math. People are talking less, and it's sort of like extra credit. A lowlight was probation. It's pretty self explanatory, so I obviously have to explain it to you. I have to go in at 0715 and during recess to do school work. I can't do my leadership job and basically use my vest. Privileges are gone, too. Perfect.

Lessons Learned:
I learned that probation is the worst. Never gonna do that again, never. I also learned that CFAs come at approximately the same time and are basically all the same things. I also learned that AR is not to be taken for granted. Moreover, I learned that people always spoil things, like using chrome books with a sub. I am deeply disappointed and at the same time not surprised.

Flag Football Overview:
I feel like intramural flag football was a great learning experience. I didn't like being a greeter very much. I preferred being a scorer because I felt like I was in charge of myself and not just controlled by someone else. I liked being a picture person, but people told me what to do like I didn't already know how. A highlight of flag football was taking pictures. I liked how I was, for the most part, isolated from everyone else. A lowlight was that the first day was really hectic. Another lowlight was that I didn't eat lunch because I didn't want to miss class time. Another lowlight was that It hurt to stand after flag football. I learned that I don't need to eat lunch to survive. I also learned that everyone needs to be on the same page for something to work.

Another Weekly Bloggy Thingymabob

September 5-8

Matthew and Alize choosing a song
This week was really hectic because of flag football. On Tuesday, I scored the classes. A repeated theme throughout flag football for me was wanting to sit down and never want to stand up again afterward. On Wednesday, I was a greeter and greeted my math teacher's homeroom. On Thursday, I was the picture taker, And I took pictures of the game. At the end of the 7th grade game, Emma Pulled me over to the classes and told me to take pictures of them shaking hands. I got Into my position to the side of the classes, but Emma pulled me straight in between the two classes! I walked like a meter out as to not get in their way, but Emma pushed me back in and told me again to take pictures of the classes shaking hands. I got my camera focused and she said, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING THERES NOTHING TO TAKE A PICTURE OF YET!" It's like I couldn't take a picture from outside. I KNOW WHAT TO DO! DON'T FORCE ME DO DO SOMETHING YOUR WAY! IF I NEED HELP, ILL ASK SOMEONE! On Friday, I was a greeter, but the seventh grade classes didn't show up. Eighth grade did and it was pretty normal. In music, Kayley, Mikka, and Alannah started randomly coming into A102 and playing around. I don't even know if they're supposed to be there, but they distracted all of us. We didn't do anything special in math, english, or social studies, but we did this cool paper airplane experiment in science. It was to see what kind of airplane goes the farthest. We got to name them and everything. The winner was named Brittney Spears, which is so random that it's funny. On Friday, the rest of my class was being chatty, and we had to stay in after school in science. In band, we finished learning about the band instruments, and we will get our instruments soon! We didn't get to discussing our vision and mission reflections on Friday, so all we did in leadership was get set up for flag football.

A highlight of the week was doing the paper airplane science experiment. I liked it because it was different and not boring. Another highlight was being a greeter/scorer for some of my classes, like math. A lowlight for the week was when Emma dragged me over to the classes that were about to shake hands. She was making me take pictures her way, and I hated it. Another lowlight is staying after school because my classmates in science wouldn't stop talking. This was a problem in third grade, fourth grade, fifth grade, sixth grade, and apparently seventh grade, too. I don't disrupt the class, but I somehow have gotten in chatty classes for the past four years! My math teacher also says my math class talks a lot. Furthermore, my social studies class is literally a zoo. I guess another lowlight of the week is how much time is wasted on frivolous conversations by my classmates.
My Lucky Dime

I learned that everyone talks too much. I also learned that flag football gets really boring. Furthermore, I learned that I don't like taking pictures for flag football.

My binder pet is my lucky dime. It's a running joke where I pick up a random coin, usually a penny, and say it's my lucky dime. It started when  found an unusually shiny dime on the open house day and declared it my lucky dime. I then proceeded to lose it. I found a penny and called that my lucky dime. I later found it on my clothes dryer, of all places. I drew a mustache on it, as I'm never going to spend it, and made it my binder pet.

Ilima Intermediate Vision and Mission reflection

Ilima Intermediate School Vsion: Kulia I ka Nu'u - Strive for the Summit.
Ilima's summit is college and career readiness for all students!

Ilima Intermediate Mission Statement: Through Teamwork and perseverance, Ilima Intermediate will achieve high expectations.

Vision
First off, I feel like the vision is inaccurate to what the school is doing and also should be changed. Why would we need to prepare for college when we don't know what we'll take in college, if we even go to college at all. Furthermore, less and less careers require lessons taught in school, as they have a more open and friendly environment. Careers are becoming less and less just sitting in an office, and more talking with other people in an open conversation. The American school system as it currently is was created for industrial age factory workers, who were told to be quiet and do as told. How in the world is Ilima supposed to get people ready for a career fundamentally different from school? Also, there are four more years to get ready for college and careers. They call it high school.
I would change the vision to not have college and career readiness in it. I feel like the vision should include making students smarter and more mature when they end eighth grade than when they start seventh. Ilima students should be independent and resourceful. Ilima's summit should be students becoming better people; students becoming mature young adults that value learning and strive to do more of it. That coincidentally is in line with college and career readiness, but it applies to so much more. It helps with high school, courtship, friendship, travel, and retirement.

Mission
I feel like the mission is not being met in this school. It says that through teamwork Ilima will achieve high expectations. I know of a great many students at this school who do not even have respect for one another. In social studies, two of my classmates had an argument about foreheads! Students swear all the time to each other. People use their phones in class, chew gum, and generally cause mischief. While some people are being delinquents, the others are rowdy and chatty. Who are they talking about? Why, the people breaking the rules, of course! When half the school is disrespectful, how can Ilima work as a team? If the school can change this, then the mission will come a reality. However, "high expectations" is a bit vague. High State Testing scores? Exemplar behavior? High school readiness? What is a high expectation?

Another Weekly Blog Im not even gonna bother anymore with the dates

August 28 - September 1
Us doing work in our spare time.
Another quality school week. I'm going to start taking notes so I know what happens on Mondays. On Tuesday, we had a sub for band who did nothing. One eighth grader tried to lead the class and failed miserably. We didn't really do any band things at all (as you'll see later in this summary.)On Wednesday, we took... interesting pictures. In one of them, I poked my head out of a certain tree and looked rather suspicious. I can safely assume that it was unsettling to my peers, as they called it, "Creepy." My core classes, throughout this course of time, were exceptionally monotonous and a waste of valuable time explaining further. On Thursday, we had yet another substitute teacher for band. This one didn't even attempt to do any sort of thing pertaining to band at all. Our band director, Mr. Kawasaki, will be really mad at us for not following the sub's directions. I guess some people don't have a lot of respect for anyone. I forgot to bring a lunch, so I had basically nothing. Flag football was crazy. I wish I wasn't a greeter. I always feel like I can't gather enough respect from people more experienced than me. On Friday, I went to Mrs. Gouveia's homeroom and advisory. I'd like to say that excursion went well. Everything else was pretty standard, besides the obvious drama. I don't even understand it. Something about Ahled getting invited to something and Allanah getting mad and now Matthew has a fancy desk.
Highlight/Lowlight:A highlight of this week was taking pictures on Wednesday. It was really fun and we had some funny pictures. A lowlight of the week was having subs for band the whole week.

I learned that substitute teacher suck. I mean, I knew they were bad, but they SUCK, especially for an elective like band. I also learned not to underestimate  how hectic things can be. I should've been prepared for flag football, but I didn't know what to do.
